Well, we went back to the psychiatrist that diagnosed Amelia with Bipolar Disorder. He tried to convince me that she does have Bipolar and not Asperger's. I never really believed him to begin with and after her hospitalization, I really don't believe him. Now that we have a refill on her meds. I'm going to find another pediatric psychiatrist! There aren't very many of them and it takes a while to get an appt. Now we've got 2 months worth of meds so I think we'll be alright.
Amelia wigged out this morning and I stayed calm! David and I didn't yell just kept telling her to stop screaming and that her behavior was not acceptable in our home. We also reiterated that it is a priviledge to live in our home and if she chooses to go back to her old behavior, she will not be allowed to live in our home. She will go to a group home because I refused to live like we were before! She will not take over our lives again! She did calm down and stop screaming. Maybe fear is a good thing...
I heard from the therapist at the Art therapy place and I need to call and register her for therapy. So glad to hear from someone!!!
